York Olive Oil Co still accessible

On Thursday 10 January an out of control bushfire came close enough to scare us but thanks to the efforts of volunteers and professional firefighters it was contained before reaching Ashworth Road. The fire destroyed a bridge on the Great Southern Highway, reason why it is closed between Yarra Road in the west and Cut Hill Road just east of us.

Whilst repairs take place, traffic to York is diverted via Talbot West Road into Talbot Road then Cut Hill Road. Just follow the “Detour” signs. It will take you 10 minutes longer to reach us but the scenery is worth the trip. At the Cut Hill road block, turn right onto Great Southern Highway, then left into Morris Edwards Drive, left into Ulster Road, left into Mokine Road and finally left into Ashworth Road.

We have plenty of ice cream and our adventure playground is waiting for the kids.

See you soon !

Champion Ice Cream, Four Years in a Row

It’s that time of the year again, for the Perth Royal Show Food awards and for Spring-flowers. So, it’s probably a good time to cue a photo of our award-winning ice cream creator, Arnaud, with the York Ice Cream trike among our display of Everlasting paper-daisies:

York Ice Cream among the Everlasting Daisies

The big news is that the York Ice Cream Company has been awarded Champion Ice Cream at the Perth Royal Show Dairy Awards for the fourth year in a row. We received medals for eleven of our flavours, including Gold Medals for Mango, Nutella (Chocolate Hazelnut) and the Show Champion, Jarrah Honey. That’s three years out of the last four that our Jarrah Honey ice cream has been awarded Champion (the other year it was our Mango Ice Cream) so it’s good to know that our belief in product over marketing continues to hold true.

This ice cream is only available at our retail shop at the York Olive Oil Company in the Shire of York, and now would be a good time to visit while the Everlastings are in full flower. We look forward to welcoming you here soon.
