New Season Olive Oil, Chocolate Truffles, Ice Cream and Happiness

The olive harvest is now over for the year and our new season 2014 Extra Virgin, Lemon Infused and Chilli Infused oils are now available directly from us or through The Grocer, our distributor in Perth. As we do each year, all remaining bottles of last year’s oil are currently being sold at a discount from our shop.

Acting on many requests we have been making our seasonal chocolate truffles which are becoming a winter tradition. These are now available from our shop for a limited time only!

Meanwhile we have been trying hard to keep up with demand for our artisanal ice creams and sorbets, proving that they are popular no matter how chilly the weather. All fifteen flavours are in stock at our shop and at Penny Farthing Sweets on Avon Terrace in York. And here’s a message all we lovers of real ice cream will agree with:

The Olive Season has Started

The 2014 olive harvest has started here in Western Australia and our press is already busy. Our new 2014 season Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Olio Novello) should be released in approximately mid-May, but we may have limited quantities of unfiltered oil available before then.

If you are thinking about bringing your olives to us for crushing do please book in advance to guarantee a time-slot. This is our 13th year of making Extra Virgin Olive Oil and our new Pieralisi EFFE 3 Decanter can handle even the most difficult olives. You can be assured we will achieve the best possible results with your olives.

Processing Charges: We have updated our olive oil contract processing charges for the 2014 season. Nothing too dramatic; a reasonable increase of 3.6% to keep the olive press up-to-date and viable.

When to Harvest Your Olives: We have reworked the advice given on the page about judging when best to pick your olives, (for “reworked”, read “simplified”). Worth a visit.
