Diesel Surcharge

Our processing plant, state of the art as it is, requires a quality three-phase electricity supply which isn’t available from the grid in our location. As such, we use a diesel generator to power the press during the processing season.

Given the current situation regarding fuel prices we may have to add a fuel surcharge to our processing costs for the 2026 season.

Unless things go truly pear-shape we don’t expect this surcharge to be more than 4% to 5% and we will advise all of our customers at the time of booking.

York Jam Company

It’s been a good year for our fruit trees and we are busy making our seasonal jams and marmalades; slowly hand-made to a traditional French family method which retains the texture, colour and intense flavour of the fruit.

Apart from the strawberries the fruit is from our own trees and harvested at the point of optimum ripeness so quantities are seasonal and limited. Come and experience the vibrant colours and fruity aromas of the best-tasting apricot jam, kumquat marmalade, orange marmalade, Seville marmalade and strawberry jam.

Don’t just take our word for it: “Delicious jams; the best we have ever tasted!
Rachel H.

Top tip: try it with a slice of our wood-fired sourdough bread.
